WHO DO YOU WORK FOR?
"Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than men; knowing that from the Lord you will receive an inheritance. It is the Lord whom you serve." (Colossians 3:23-24)
We all work for somebody. Who are you working for? No, not who pays your salary, but whose approval are you seeking? No, not who is your employer, but whose kudos do you crave? That is who you are really working for.
Some of us are working for our parents. After all these years we are still trying to prove something to that mom or dad who was impossible to please. Parents make terrible bosses, because they always follow you to the next job.
Then there are those of us who work for our peers. We are constantly gauging what others think of what we have done. We work as slaves to the crowd.
Some of us are working for our children. We want to give them something better. We work long hours telling ourselves its all for them. But, kids make bad bosses because they don't really want the things our paychecks buy. They don't appreciate the sacrifice and they resent the personal cost.
Some of us work for ourselves. We are our own worst bosses. We work to measure up to our own self-imposed standards, to be somebody we never were and probably never could be. When we see a measure of success, we reward ourselves with approval. When we feel we have failed, we punish ourselves. There is no tyranny worse than self-tyranny.
The Bible says we should choose carefully who we work for. In Colossians 3, Paul reminds us to make sure our heart is working for God, because He is the only boss who pays in full. We all work for somebody. Who will you work for today?
A WORK PRAYER
Lord God, here is my heart and here is my mind. Please search them, and adjust them towards being settled on working for You. Amen.

| Sharing a Thanksgiving thank you from John! Florida | Nov 22, 2010 @ 12:55 PM
Dear Friends,
"I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus." That's how Paul started his first letter to the Corinthian church to assure them that he was believing the gospel for them. Likewise, I want to assure you all that I, too, am believing the gospel of grace for all of you. I am grateful for the way God has given you all his grace in Christ Jesus to make you a brand new person and to work out his eternal purpose in your lives. I consider it to be a great privilege to not only share the gospel with you, but to see it come alive in your lives as well. This year I want to thank God for your "faith in action" as you love others like Jesus.
Have a blessed day with your friends, family, and your God.
Sincerely,
John Glenn

Hi Guys, Just wanted to say that it was a real blessing to be involved
with your band at the Chapel By The Sea concert. We look forward to
playing with your band again. Awesome job at Archie's. Too bad about the
lighting problem. God bless, hope we can see you soon. |

.....and it is always darkest before the dawn...
Dear Lord God Almighty, please don't let it get any darker.
I can see nothing... Dispair and fear are all that visit me...
By my own hand and through my own will I sink deeper.
Pray for me friends..Pray that I will find Mercy and Grace once again. |

The pastors of a sister church have a little girl named Lacey, she has been going thru Chemo for Luekemia and
needs prayers!! She has brought more joy and hugs and lauhter in her short time here than most people do their
whole lifetimes!! She is an inspiration to all of those who come in contact with her, I'm asking prayers for her
continued strength and faith thru her treatments! And especially prayers for her family to accept everything as GODs
will, even tho we may not even begin to be able to understand it..... |
